Order of Christian Initiation for Adults (OCIA)

A beautiful opportunity for the 2023-2024 school year opened up for staff, students, and parents/guardians in the way of OCIA classes available on campus for the very first time. The inaugural group of 12 (9 students and 3 staff members) began their faith formation journey taught by the ever gracious Deacon Jose Reyes of St. Stanislaus Church.

OCIA is an acronym for the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (formerly RCIA). Through this process, adults (those over the age of seven with the use of reason) who express interest in becoming Catholic are welcomed into a special community within the parish to learn about the teachings of Jesus and his Church, to have their questions answered, learn about the new life in Christ offered by baptism, and prepare for the reception of the sacraments of initiation at the Easter Vigil.*

Holy Thursday

Central Catholic's OCIA group has blossomed beyond the original 13 who participated in the 2023-2024 school year. This current school year, 2024-2025, 24 students are participating and will be confirmed Catholics at Easter Vigil. We have 4 catechumens and 20 candidates this year.

Twelve of our students had their feet washed at the Holy Thursday Service on April 17th. Members of our Senior Ministry Team & Liturgy Club participated in a Passion Play that was performed at St. Stanislaus Church.

Congrats to our students in their studies to become full Catholics and to our ministry team and club members for showing the extraordinary life and death of Christ.

WE wish you all a happy and peaceful Easter!
