Why We Give
"Why We Named CCHS in our Planned Giving.”
Attending Central Catholic High School (CCHS) was such an incredible time learning about teachings of Christ and the Catholic faith and values, in a safe and encouraging environment. Looking back, I can see how those early experiences at CCHS continue to guide my decisions and actions, both personally and professionally. As I progressed in my life, married and had children, I realized immediately how attending CCHS was the rock-solid foundation for my college, career and quite frankly my entire life and that of my family.What I gained at CCHS was so powerful, it helped shape the decision my wife and I made to send our children to Catholic Schools. We knew they would need the same solid foundation of faith to carry them through their lives, just as CCHS did for me.
The values I learned at CCHS—trust, love, honesty, hard work, and faith in God—became the building blocks of my life. The values instilled in me did not just stay in the classroom, daily decisions, even the toughest moments in my life, whether with family, friends, or work, I found myself guided by the teachings and principles I gained at CCHS.
Even in the sports programs, especially football, it was not just about winning. Along the way coaches taught us about integrity, teamwork, and believing in something greater than ourselves.
We prayed together, learned to play with integrity, with respect for each other, and to lift each other up. I carried those lessons as well as I progressed in my career, leading teams of personnel and guiding them through the difficulties in work, faith, and family life.
Every time I visit the CCHS campus, I feel like a teenager again as memories flood back and I feel this incredible spiritual connection. I remember the lockers, teachers, classmates, the school events, sports games, the teachings….my time there was so special, and, in some ways, I wish I could do it all over again. With each visit, I realize how fortunate I am to have had God loving parents that knew attending CCHS would build my Catholic faith that would guide me
throughout my life.
This is why we have placed CCHS as a beneficiary in our Trust. We want to help ensure future generations can be shaped by that same light, to feel the love of God and positive energy when they walk the same halls, feel the same spirituality I did and still do, and forever draw on their time there to help them throughout their lives.
