FFA School Farm

WE are beyond thrilled to be closer to our goal with our FFA School Farm. WE are within $20,000 of finishing Phase 1 of this project. The irrigation has been put in, as well as the fencing. Students are now able to tend to the area and they had their first School Farm work day. WE look forward to cultivating this area and growing all sorts of lovely things in the days and years to come.

Our Agriculture Department here at Central Catholic High School has dynamic classes that help enrich a student’s knowledge and understanding of the natural world around them. Being located in the State of California, WE have the unique opportunity to explore the ins and outs of growing and cultivating crops and raising animals in one of the prime locations in the country.
Central Catholic High School was granted an FFA charter in 2014. Since then, WE have grown significantly with the help of our school, community, students, parents and FFA Advisors. FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education. All students enrolled in an agriculture course are granted membership into the FFA organization.

WE have the amazing privilege of having teachers who are well-versed and experts in their chosen fields. This is absolutely true regarding the dynamic duo that run the Agriculture Department here at Central Catholic.
Ms. Jessica Brand.
Ms. Mary Jane Gwerder.
In an effort to help annually raise money for our Agriculture Department, one of our favorite events to put on is
Boots & Blue Jeans. It is our main department fundraiser that happens in the early autumn. It showcases a silent, as well as live auction, gourmet appetizers, tasty drinks, and a lovingly crafted dinner. Music and dancing typically follow. WE very much hope that you join us at that time for food, family, friendship, and supporting this department as WE work to give our students the best agricultural education that WE can!

Through Ms. Jessica Brand and Ms. Mary Jane Gwerder's dedicated tutelage, our students regularly compete and place at the county and state level, bringing home major awards in Showmanship of their animals.

Your generous donations to our FFA School farm ensures that all students who are interested in learning the skills vital for careers in farming have access to the best tools there are available to be successful in that endeavor.

This farm will benefit students in many ways, such as:

* Health (moving & working outdoors; physical exercise).
* Knowledge (education on skills needed for farming, animal care, & mechanics).
* Compassion (towards their fellow students & staff, as well as the animals they are caring for).
